What Flows?

Reality flows in a continuum of water, wind and the blood of life

What Flows?- A Poem by Sue Cartwright, Spiral Leaf

Water gushes, trickles, drips, seeps and floats;

In rivers, waterfalls, raindrops, eddies and lakes;

In a structured celluar gel, cytoplasm held in cells;

In liquid, gas, structured energy, ice crystals and ocean swells.

Wind blows in violent storms and gentle breezes;

Circulating, cooling, airing, eroding, shaping, rustling;

Circling Earth's atmosphere, always moving, spreading seeds;

Driving weather patterns, spiralling, bending trees.

Blood flows, oscillating through arteries and veins;

Pausing in capillaries where nutrients are exchanged;

Charged particles, mineral ions, take centre stage;

Energising every cell with a life to maintain.

Taking us from where we are, to where we will become;

In a living stream of consciousness, a moment just begun;

To be in this flow, as a living part of life's continuum;

Is to become the flow, living life now, as thy will be done.
