What is it?
Sea Salt is essential because it helps to maintain the optimal amount of blood in our bodies. It is needed by the heart to deliver blood to our organs and oscillate the blood in our capillaries. It is essential for healthy digestion, cell-to-cell communication, bone formation and strength, and for the prevention of dehydration which on its own can cause all manner of health issues.
Sea Salt is also critical for healthy pregnancy and childbirth, for the proper functioning of cells and muscles, and for the optimal transmission of nerve impulses to and from organs such as the heart and brain.
Contained within real salt crystals are elements called electrolytes including sodium, potassium, magnesium and calcium. These carry electrical impulses in our bodily fluids, controlling many of our bodily functions. Another trace mineral found in natural Sea Salt is iodine, the main building block for healthy thyroid hormones and functionality, and for entire bodily health.
Without an adequate intake of natural Sea Salt, our blood volume goes down, which can lead to the shutting down of certain organs such as the brain and the kidneys.
What does it do?
We cry salt, we sweat salt, the cells in our bodies are bathed in salty fluids and we crave saltiness. Our human bodies need the trace mineral components found in Sea Salt for hydration, muscle contraction, nerve signal transmission, pH balance enzyme production, efficient adrenal and thyroid function, and more.
The trace minerals found in Sea Salt carry a positive or negative electric charge when dissolved in bodily fluids and the blood. They are responsible for maintaining a steady heart rhythm and regulating blood pressure. They act like tiny batteries, carrying electrical charges that allow cells to communicate. These electrolytes are excreted naturally from the body in various ways which is why we need to keep ourselves topped up through the consumption of Sea Salt and filtered water as part of a healthy diet and natural lifestyle.
Natural Sea Salt contains from 60 to over 80 trace minerals including sodium, chloride, phosphate, bicarbonate, magnesium, calcium, potassium, iodine, iron, copper, manganese, zinc, selenium, sulfur, silicon, boron, chromium, molybdenum, vanadium and more.
How is it used?
It is unfortunate that government departments and health authorities focus primarily on the relationship between salt intake and blood pressure. Despite the fact that they recognise the dangers of eating too much Table Salt, they largely overlook the consequences of not consuming enough life-giving natural Sea Salt.
The optimal amount of Seal Salt intake can differ widely from person to person, depending on everyone's unique situation. However, the body is able to remove excess salt so you can't take too much of it, although commen sense should always apply.
The optimum amount of Sea Salt required in normal circumstances is from 3-4 grams a day. You sodium balance being maintaned at your salt 'set point'. In short, your brain would prefer that you simply eat more natural Sea Sale rather than it having to hoard or scavenge for it from vulnerable parts of the body.

Where can I get it?
Natural Sea Salt is produced from evaporated ocean water and comes in dozens of varieties defined by region, mineral content, harvesting method and lack of exposure to pollution.
When you buy natural Sea Salt, It is important to ensure it is minimally and traditionally processed, unrefined and certified for organic, natural production (certified for organic input) rather than simply being labelled 'organic' as Sea Salt is a mineral, not an agricultural product.
