Water Ways
Water is the most perfect traveller
because when it travels it becomes
the path itself.

River Ripples
Who hears the rippling of rivers,
will not utterly despair of anything.

River Magic
If there is magic on this planet,
it is contained in water.

Natural Rhythm
Rivers are places that renew our spirit,
connect us with our past,
and link us directly with the flow and rhythm
of the natural world.
Ted Turner
Moss on Wood
All along the river,
Deep down on the valley bed,
Surrounded by spongy soft mosses,
On branches and tree trunks and wood.
Sue Cartwright
To the River
For in the true nature of things,
if we rightly consider, every green tree,
is far more glorious than if it were
made of gold and silver.
Martin Luther King Jr
Riverside Leaves
A riverside coppice with canopies of leaves,
Rustling softly on a gentle breeze,
A bounty of hazel, birches, beeches and lime,
A beautiful and peaceful snapshot in time.
Sue Cartwright
Leafy Light
I believe that there is a subtle
magnetism in nature,
which, if we unconsciously yield to it,
will direct us aright.
Henry David Thoreau
On the Riverbank
Mole thought his happiness
was complete when, as he
meandered aimlessly along,
suddenly he stood by the edge
of a full-fed river.
The Wind in the Willows | Kenneth Grahame
River Walk
The path steered inland away
from the river, stretching ahead
into the woodland that skirted
the hill on top of the valley.
Sue Cartwright
River Path
The path meandered high up
on the side of the valley, passing
through narrow walkways built
into the bank with low, old stone
walls on the river-side.
Sue Cartwright
Restful River
What makes a river so restful to people
is that it doesn’t have any doubt,
it is sure to get where it is going,
and it doesn’t want to go anywhere else.
Hal Boyle
Nature's Way
Come forth into the light of things,
let nature be your teacher.
William Wordsworth
River Bridge
Suddenly, to my left, the bank
fell away into a hollow crevice,
I stepped onto a sturdy wooden
bridge that joined the path
leading to the other side.
