Visualising chakra energy for healing love and vitalisation

Chakra Light Visualisation by Sue Cartwright, Spiral Leaf

This visualisation is a form of meditation that will activate your major chakras for protection and increased vitality.

There are seven major chakras located in our astral body along the spine, each radiating a specific colour and energy coinciding with glands in our physical body that control the spiritual, emotional, psychological and physical aspects of our being. The conscious awareness and balancing of these energy centres has a positive impact on our well-being and good health.

Major chakras

The seven major chakras are situated along the spine starting from the base and upwards towards the crown of the head as follows:

  • Root Chakra (red) at the base of the spine for belonging, safety and feeling grounded.
  • Sacral Chakra (orange) below the navel for creativity, enjoyment, passion, sexuality, and emotions.
  • Solar Plexus Chakra (yellow) above the navel for personal power, strength, courage and resilience.
  • Heart Chakra (green) for love, compassion, empathy, gratitude, joy and forgiveness.
  • Throat Chakra (blue) for communication, self-expression and finding your voice.
  • Third eye or Brow Chakra (purple) at the brow for intuition, vision, foresight, intention and imagination.
  • Crown chakra (white) for spiritual connection, enlightenment, transcendence and wisdom.

Chakra visualisation

Use the words below as a guide until you are able to visualise your own similar journey without needing any prompts.

It takes about 20 minutes so find a comfortable position sitting upright or lying down. Breathe deeply to release any tension, relax your body, focus your mind and start your visualisation.

Silver threads of light

Focus on the ground beneath you and imagine being surprised to find that it is illuminated with pure white light. The light is coming from the intricate web of mycorrhizal or fungal networks that sparkle with energy as they run between the roots of the trees, around air pockets and through the soil. These fine filaments of silver light dazzle as they draw energy up from the core of the earth and up through the grasses, plants and trees.

Now imagine drawing filaments of silver light into your body through your feet which then spiral upwards energising every cell and lighting them up along the way.

Imagine these silver filaments circling the base of your spine to create a beautiful disc of red light around your Root Chakra. Imagine the silver filaments energising your chakra until it glows and then flicking it into a spin before spiralling up towards your next chakra.

Repeat this for your Sacral Chakra (orange light), Solar Plexus Chakra (yellow light) and Heart Chakra (green light).

Cellular crystalline light

When your Heart Chakra is spinning and glowing, imagine the silver filaments charging and lighting up the crystalline cells in your heart so that it sparkles with diamond white light. Imagine this pure love energy flowing through all your spinning chakras and filling every cell in your body with divine light energy.

Now imagine the silver filaments of light spiralling up from your heart to your Throat Chakra in exactly the same way as before until it's spinning with blue light. Imagine the silver filaments clearing and removing any calcium around your Pineal Gland so that you can see everything clearly within you and around you.

With your Third Eye Chakra spinning in a violet glow, imagine the silver filaments energising a circle of white light around your Crown Chakra. Then imagine the white light spilling out into a mesh made of silver filaments which circles all around you. Imagine this being continuously filled with the white light flowing from the earth, up through all your spinning chakras and out through your Crown Chakra until you feel fully energised and protected.

From here you can relax in your circle of light to re-balance and harmonise your energies, or focus on any healing that might be helpful, or you can create 'Earth Light Protection' domes for your loved ones and special places, or take a ride to a higher dimension and experience a place that's as beautiful as you wish it to be.
