A new approach to natural health and reasons to spend time in Nature

Quantum Natural Health by Carrie B Wellness - A Review by Sue Cartwright, Spiral Leaf

Experiencing how it feels to be in Nature with the sun on our face, the wind in our hair, a rain drop on our nose, the buffeting of a cold wind and our warm breath swirling in the cold air is somehow magical and serves to make us feel better on any occasion.

What we may not perhaps be aware of is that our bodies need to be exposed to Nature’s elements in order to function efficiently, grow and thrive. I recently discovered a whole new body of research and little known approach which I wanted to share with you.

I highly recommend visiting Carrie B Wellness to learn about her unique (as far as I can see) quantum approach to natural health. I am only just getting started and have already enjoyed significant benefits - long may it continue.

In simple terms, there are 4 key areas that we tend not to pay attention to at a fundamental level. These are introduced on Carrie’s website as follows:

Light

Getting sunlight in our eyes and on skin at key times of day, understanding red and infra-red light.

Water

Building up the ‘exclusion-zone’ water in your body, avoiding things that reduce it, and tending to your quantum connective tissue.

Electrons

Gathering energy through contact with the Earth's magnetic field, grounding while indoors, and creating your own electrons through movement.

Mitochondria

Mitigating exposure to non-native EMFs, practicing proper breathing techniques, aligning your habits with the seasons, and cold plunging.

This puts a whole new emphasis on the importance of connecting with Nature to nurture, energise and maintain our bodies in good health. I am excited to discover more that will enhance my connection to nature and my understanding of how it all works.

I will share my experience and significance of this approach in future posts.

Please note: I have no affiliation with Carrie B Wellness and found out about Carrie’s work on the Love Covered Life Podcast hosted by Melissa Denyce - Why We Are Sick - NEW EVIDENCE: The Spiritual Roots of Health and Vitality that NO ONE Has Told You

Reasons to spend time in Nature

I am glad to say that much of the Quantum Health approach (see above) corresponds with or supports my own natural health practices learned and adopted over time. Here are some of the things I do when I am out and about in Nature, and how they help to boost my health on a daily basis.

Daylight, Eyesight & the Circadian Rhythm

Nature provides the sunlight our body needs to build and repair cells amongst many other things. Being outside in daylight brings life-giving light in through our eyes and through our skin, especially in the warmer months.

We always feel better when we expose our eyes to the white light of Winter during the darker days even when it isn’t sunny. Observing Nature is exceptionally good exercise for our eyes when we hone them in on the minutae of Nature and stretch them out to admire a distant horizon.

It is also true that watching a sunrise helps our body to get ready for the day and watching a sunset helps our body calm down ready for a restful sleep. This is due to natural red and infra-red light found only at the beginning and end of the day. We all know that watching screens before bedtime and first thing in the morning is harmful.

Natural light helps us to align with our natural Circadian Rhythm and it’s well worth looking into if your health is not up to par or not as good as you think it should be having detoxed, gone organic and taken on board the usual natural health advice.

Movement, Activities & Vitality

Nature provides the space we need for movement, engagement and exercise whether it's stretching in the garden (while gardening, sitting or lying down), planting house plants indoors (with bare hands in the soil), playing on the grass (in bare feet), walking through woodlands (touching tree barks and moss), sunbathing in wildflower meadows (breathing in the heady scent of wild flowers), and so on.

Rest, Relaxation & Reflection

Nature also provides the space we need to slow down, relax and reflect on things. It provides the calm yet alive environment we need to relax, to think, to meditate and work things out so that we can let them go. More about that in the next post about nurturing our connecting with our Mind.

Sense, Sensing & Sensitivity

Nature provides infinite ways for us to experience all our senses and heighten our sensory perception which, in turn, helps us to understand the world around is and make sense of things. The beneficial effects of consciously engaging each of our senses to see, hear, smell, touch, taste, feel and intuit the natural world around us cannot be understated.

Love your body and your body will love you

Our bodies are miraculous and they serve us so well, despite everything we throw at them, expose them to or deny them on a daily basis. We underestimate the work that’s going on behind the scenes to compensate for our lack of knowing and efforts made.

However, when we know how to play our part and give our body what it needs to stay healthy, the results are without question transformational. Our bodies quickly respond, recalibrate and heal given the right conditions and before long (and with the required amount of input), we are increasingly able to do the things we want it to do - and well.

Simply appreciating the beauty and ingenuity of living things in our local environment through the seasons is good for us. We know that feeling genuine gratitude calms us down and makes us care more about ourselves, each other and the beautiful home that is an integral part of our lives.
