Hunter Gatherer
Gathering Nature's treasures for health, mindfulness and enjoyment
Gathering treasures is good for the soul;
It's in our blood to hunt and roam;
To step out into the great unknown;
Into the wild, Nature's home sweet home.
Ancestral cousins of old, once stood;
On this very earth, blue skies above;
Purveying the landscape for food and wood;
Searching for sustenance and all things good.
Collecting sweet berries, roots and herbs;
Eyes sharp, knowing what to pick and preserve;
Nature's gifts of seeds, nuts, wild grain and flowers;
For nutrition, energy, life-force and power.
I search for feathers, pine cones and moss;
Pebbles with patterns, acorns with hats;
An old branch with lichen, a twisted branch;
Treasures to nurture and never lost.
Foraging is a natural, fun pursuit;
Out in the fresh air, walking on foot;
Dissolving stress, enhancing mood;
Purposeful engagement to feel renewed.
