Finding the Beauty in Stillness (Daily Credo)

A morning meditation to go within to find your inner peace in stillness

In Stillness (Daiy Credo) by Sue Cartwright, Spiral Leaf

In a recent post we explored how spending time in Nature serves to soothe us, heal us and provide space for our minds to relax, connect and take in the wonders of ouor natural world. It's true that our natural environment provides endless opportunities for us to absorb the beauty of living things thriving around us and to capture special moments that will stay with us forever.

The article, entitled Why Nature? shares a concept originated by my late Dad, Jeff Cartwright. His 'Daily Credo' was developed and perfected over many years and takes about 20 minutes to recite in full. Jeff encouraged others to use this for themselves and to make their own.

The entire Credo is summarised in a simple affirmation that can be memorised and called upon at any time of day to clear the mind and go within where an ocean of stillness and peace resides.

The Credo Affirmation can be used as an aid when the need arises to breathe, take a step back and regain balance. It's easily to remember and provides an effective way to practice harmonising all aspects of our being.

When we give ourselves the space and time to find peace within ourselves, we discover a beauty in stillness so that we can draw on our inner reserves of healing energy, inner calm and tranquillity.

It is most effective when the words are spoken with feeling and intention. This allows time to fully experience each moment using full and steady breaths as a means to connect with Mind, Body, Spirit, Soul and Whole Being. The aim is to ask every part of your being to come into balance and remain in sychronicity throughout the day.

It's a wonderful way to start the day by taking some time to become perfectly still. As a daily practice, this becomes easier and makes a difference when you find you are able to automatically recalibrate without having to think too much about it.

I have created an audio video with a brief introduction and relaxation technique followed by the Credo Affirmation. Click on the link below to listen to the Credo Affirmation and you can download a print of the 'Daily Credo' from my resources section (see below).

I hope you enjoy this new approach to finding inner peace - your very own inner place of calm awaits you.
