Winter Wonderland
A poem about the breathtaking beauty of snow and ice in Nature
Frozen grass crunches,
Earth hard on solid ground
Frost dusted edges,
Pale blue morning sky.
Silver laced river, gracefully slow,
Winding paths padded with snow.
Hazelnut catkins, frosted lambs tails,
Soon to release their pollen grains.
Snow coated brambles, sculpted in ice,
Abundantly hardy, as the wind bites.
Leafless branches, dark slender stems,
Edged in icycles, crystalline gems.
Tree lined banks, dipped in white,
Birds singing, sunny and bright.
Magnificent ancients, line the valley,
Sun glistening, radiant and glowing.
Beautiful mistletoe, plant of peace,
Shaped in clusters, high in the trees.
Ruby red flowers, frosted in pink,
Exquisitely delicate, Nature's gift.
Winter white wonderland, snow frozen ice,
Evergreen ivy, glistens and shines.
Exotic perennials, shapely and fine,
Crafting shapes in hoar frost designs.
Sunlight luminous, air cold and crisp,
Few things in Nature are more beautiful than this.
