New Beaver Moon

Light, Frost Moon, rivers and woodland beds;

Wind rustling leaves, yellows, oranges, reds;

As Beavers toil, with such swiftness and grace;

Strong webbed hind feet, paddle-shaped tail.

Darkness approaches, heading home, inside;

A last look up, towards a beautiful clear sky;

Stars and planets, crescent New Moon, shy;

Such universal silence, brings peace to our lives.

Beavers build lodges, underwater doors, safe;

Dams to store food for the cold months ahead;

As we welcome the frost, it's a different world;

Time to settle down, for our wellbeing and health.
