Full Hunter's Moon in Aries by Sue Cartwright, Spiral Leaf

The Full Hunter's Moon provided a beacon of light in the darkness for hunters in historical times. It symbolises the end of the harvest season and a time for spiritual transformation. The fullness and brightness of the Moon is seen as Nature’s spotlight, illuminating the mysteries of the Universe, as the Partial Lunar Eclipse ushers in an energy which is ideal for making changes and for personal transformation.

Full Hunter's Moon - self care and personal transformation

The Full Hunter's Moon signigfies the beginning of the darker half of the year. This is part of a natural cycle that draws us in to focus on internal work and self-reflection. When we welcome the darkness with open arms and spirit, we are able to tune into the energy changes and enjoy the crisp and cold of the coming season.

This harps back to the days before industrialism when people had to focus on stocking up and preparing for the coming of Winter. Failure to do so meant facing one’s own death or mortality. While many of us continue to face challenges today in the colder months, we can use this as an opportunity for spiritual growth, goal setting, gratitude and finding ways to look after ourselves and slow ourselves down.

Full Harvest Moon (Partial Lunar Eclipse) in Aries - going within and spiritual growth

The Full Hunter's Moon in Aries carries the energy of the first sign of the zodiac. This lunation reveals any growing pains or blockages we might be feeling on the way to becoming the most evolved versions of ourselves. The Partial Lunar Eclipse means that this Full Moon will be three times more powerful and emotional.

This means it's a time for culminations, breakthroughs or breakdowns, and the triggering of crisis events that cause us to assess our most internal fears, feelings and actions. When things are difficult for us, it usually means we need to identify and process past trauma and mend past wounds.

As the healing centaur, Chiron, currently retrograde in Aries, aligns with the Moon, we can expect to feel tender as our weaknesses are exposed. This means that rather than helping everyone but ourselves, we need to take back the power and energy we give out to others and apply it to ourselves. The lesson is to not be afraid to put ourselves first. Remember that 'being selfish' is sometimes necessary and essential — especially when we are in a situation of crisis

On a brighter note, this period of enhanced energy for new beginnings and personal transformation. It's a time for contemplation, reflextion, going within and calibrating our energy to a higher vibration. A great way to tune in is to spent extended hours enjoying the moonlit evenings in the cool, crisp atmosphere with it's distinct amber hue that makes the surroundings appear drenched in golden light.

Drink it in and feel the energy of the Universe empower you.
