FAQs
Answering your most frequently asked questions to help you make an informed decision
Are your photographs original?
Yes, they are generally taken when I am out on my walks in Nature or in my garden.
I am an amateur photographer with very little technical knowledge using a Pixel phone camera. I prefer not to edit except to perhaps brighten or sharpen the image if required.
I have been sharing my photographs on my website and social media for many years with wonderful feedback. Only my best images have been selected and printed to sell from my Gift Shop as framed or unframed professional prints.
All my photographs have a sticker on the reverse side to verify they were taken by me with my contact details included.
Do you make your artwork yourself?
Yes, I do!
I love to collect different treasures in Nature to bring home to press slowly and naturally.
It's always exciting to see how they turn out. They store very well and I have built up a collection of bold shapes and deep colours to inspire my compositions for cards and pictures.
Using the best and most natural materials I can find, I use my pressed stock to create artwork and create a certificate of authenticity to include with your purchae.
Is all your artwork original?
I like to think so, yes!
I discovered a different way to present dried forna in whole and in part and learnt how to press more unusual items that have a striking impact on a composition.
I arrange many small and tiny pieces in patterns or scenes - and often include birds flying in the distance to add perspective.
How is your artwork made?
All my compositions are planned before gluing each piece to the card individuially onto high quality cartridge or handmade paper card.
I compose a pattern or scene by placing the tiniest items together and secure with just the right amount of clear drying adhesive.
All items are individually glazed to ensure the artwork lasts for the longest possible time when cared for. A 'Caring for your Artwork' card is included with guidance on how to look after your purchase.
Are all your materials natural?
All my art materials are sourced as natural and handmade or eco-friendly and all are recyclable as far as possible.
I use traditional writing and drawing equipment, refillable pens, fountain pens, refillable printing inks and pencils which are the highest quality and are made to last.
All my packaging is eco-friendly or re-used recycled (especially plastic bubble wrap which I encourage everyone to re-use also).
Are the items well packaged?
Framed artwork and prints are gift wrapped in eco-friendly tissue paper or plain paper with natural twine fastening and a 'Thank You' sticker.
These are then securely wrapped in external recycled packaging for safe delivery. Each parcel is sealed with strong brown paper tape and a large printed address label to your location.
All unframed photographic prints are placed in a card-backed envelope and external recycled packaging. Each parcel is sealed with strong brown paper tape and a large printed address label to your location.
What postal system do you use?
I charge a flat rate for Royal Mail Parcel Post with Guaranteed Second Class Signed Delivery which is required for insurance purposes.
You will have the option to select a faster delivery for an additional charge. If you live overseas, we can make an arrangement by email, if you are familiar with buying goods from the British Isles.
As soon as payment for your item is received, you will receive a tracking number by email with an estimated arrival date following the date your parcel is despatched.
Do you provide refunds?
Please read all the descriptions to make sure you are happy with your order before purchasing as I am unable to provide refunds. This is to maintain a fair price for my artwork and and save on costs. If, however, your artwork is damaged or there is a problem, please get in touch so that we can discuss how I can help.
Do you work on commissions?
I am always happy to discuss how I might be able to help using items from my dried stock collection. Items can be collected and dried for orders made over a longer period with many options for personalised handmade compositions and cards. Please get in touch if you would like me to arrange a call to talk things through.
Still have a question?
No problem at all, please get in touch and I will be happy to hear from you.
